1. Who We Are

Mixcation ("Mixcation", "we", "us", or "our") operates the Mixcation website. We help couples and friends discover retreat experiences through our platform, powered in part by the Viator activity marketplace.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only the information necessary to provide and improve our service:

• Search queries — the activities, destinations, dates, and budget you enter when searching for retreats. These are stored in aggregate in our database to help us understand demand and improve results. No personal identifier is attached.
• Click events — when you view a retreat detail or click through to book, we record the product and your current search context (activity, destination). No personal identifier is attached.
• Country — we detect your approximate country from Cloudflare network headers to show region-relevant content and currency defaults. We do not collect your precise location or IP address in our database.
• Marketing attribution — if you arrive via a link with UTM parameters (e.g. from a newsletter), those values are stored in your browser's local storage and included in search and click events to help us measure which channels are useful.
• Bookmarks, preferences, and recent searches — retreats you save, your theme and currency preference, and your recent searches are stored locally in your browser only and are never transmitted to our servers.
• Usage data — standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) retained for up to 30 days to diagnose errors and monitor service health.

We do not require account registration, collect payment information, or knowingly collect data from children under 13.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To return relevant retreat search results from our Viator integration.
• To diagnose errors and monitor service health.
• To understand aggregate demand and improve the quality of our recommendations.
• To measure the effectiveness of marketing channels (UTM attribution).

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

4. Third-Party Services

Our platform integrates with the following third-party services:

• Viator (a TripAdvisor company) — surfaces activity and experience listings. When you click through to book, you are subject to Viator's own privacy policy and terms of service.
• Google Fonts — we load typefaces from Google's servers, which means your browser makes a request to Google when loading the page. Google may log this request. See Google's Privacy Policy for details.

5. Cookies & Local Storage

We do not use cookies. We use your browser's local storage (not cookies) to persist your preferences (theme, currency), saved retreats (bookmarks), recent searches, and marketing attribution parameters (UTM values). This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly search or click, at which point only the relevant search/click context is sent — not your personal preferences or bookmarks.

You can clear all locally stored data at any time through your browser's settings (typically under "Site data" or "Storage").

6. Data Retention

Aggregated search and click events are retained indefinitely to power trend analysis, but contain no personal identifiers. Server logs are purged after 30 days. All data stored in your browser (bookmarks, preferences, recent searches) can be cleared at any time through your browser settings.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you. To make a request, contact us at the address below.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of Mixcation after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
